The small print

Rules & privacy

The Meat Proxy Union is a joke. It is not a real trade union, it cannot represent you, and membership gives you no rights at all. The rules below, however, are real.

Union rules

  1. You must be 18 or over to join.
  2. Keep it about the work. Motions should be about life as a human relay for AI tools.
  3. No real people. Don't name, describe or identify real colleagues, managers, employers or anyone else.
  4. Nothing hateful, threatening, sexual or illegal. No harassment, no spam, no advertising, no links to anything dodgy.
  5. One member, one card. Don't create extra accounts to stuff the ballot box.
  6. Read before you forward. This one is not enforced. It is aspirational.

The committee may remove any motion and suspend any account that breaks these rules, without warning.

Reporting a problem

If you're a member, use the Report link under any motion on the manifesto page. Reports go straight to the committee.

Not a member, or something else wrong? Email chair@meatproxyunion.org. Reports are reviewed by a human, who will read them before forwarding them anywhere.

Privacy notice

What we store

We don't ask for your email address, real name or anything else about you.

Who processes it

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The human check on the joining form is Cloudflare Turnstile. Request logs are kept for a short period for troubleshooting.

Why

We use this information only to run the site: to let you log in, count votes, show motions and deal with rule-breaking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site, which you joined voluntarily.

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from your membership card page. That removes your votes and login, withdraws any open motions, and replaces your username on past motions with "former member". For anything else, including a copy of your data, email chair@meatproxyunion.org and tell us your username. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
